Acting
Safwa Ozair (she/her) is a New York City-based stage and screen actor who just graduated from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University with a BFA in Drama and a minor in Producing.
At NYU, Safwa studied at the Meisner Studio, the Atlantic Acting School, Stonestreet Studio, and the Experimental Wing. She also studied abroad in Berlin in the Stanislavsky, Brecht, and Beyond program. In addition, she has studied Shakespeare and classical text in BADA’s Midsummer in Oxford program.
Safwa recently performed in Smokeshow at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, which reminded her of how much she loves being part of a global theater community. This summer, she will be starring in Gal, a one-woman show by Katherine Humes, directed by Aria Mauel at the Tank.
As a South Asian-American artist, Safwa loves to work on experimental and contemporary new work and is passionate about telling stories that are traditionally overlooked in the American theater and film landscape. She also frequently works as an intimacy director and coordinator. For more information on her work, click HERE.
