Intimacy and Movement Direction
As an Intimacy Director and Coordinator, Safwa is dedicated to fostering an environment of care with ethical practices. By prioritizing actors’ needs and deeply investigating the story, Safwa focuses on creating powerful physical storytelling safely and collaboratively.
She is currently earning her diploma from the Theatrical Intimacy Education (TIE), has trained with Intimacy Directors and Coordinators (IDC), and studied under Judi Lewis Ockler.
Safwa has extensive experience and training as a mover and movement director; she trained in various movement methods, including Williamson, Grotowski, Suzuki, and Contact Improvisation. She recently also completed the International Summer School with the UK based physical theater company, Frantic Assembly.
